SP!T – Mentor Internship
Phonetic Spit hires accomplished high school graduate spoken artists, to work and be trained as mentors and workshop facilitators in our residency, SPIT Events and after-school programs. It is our goal to place up-and-coming artists in the position to develop face-to-face relationships with young people to jointly inspire voice, and leadership while fostering artistic and youth development. Poet-Mentors play a vital role in the organization as they serve as a first line of contact and the direct bridge for the youth we serve every year.
An excellent opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students in many fields of study the opportunity to provide their knowledge and services while being exposed to the daily operations of a cutting edge organization. Volunteer opportunities will become available upon the need of the organization. Each volunteer’s weekly hours will vary depending on the nature of the job and the demands of the company.
